1997-2008 11TH YEAR OF EXCELLENCE The Autism Learning Center (ALC) was founded on September 10th, 1997, as a 501c3 Nonprofit organization, by Dr.Paul Glass and Leslie Glass to meet the tremendous need for comprehensive ABA services to familes with autistic children in the Northern Virginia area. Some county school systems are to be commended in their efforts to provide ABA, however, they cannot offer the intensity and experience that the Autism Learning Center's program provides. ALC has developed an extensive and unique treatment program that offers a variety of treatment options regardless of race, gender,or etnicity. ALC provides a highly trained, certified and experienced staff focusing on developing language (using Skinner's principles of verbal behavior), cognitive, self-help, social and play skills. This intensive individualized treatment is designed to develop these skills as rapidly as possible. All cases are supervised by our certified ABA Program Director and certified coordinators (BCBA or BCABA). The program is tightly managed to avoid wasting critical time. Therapy is home-based to provide a real-life setting. Depending on the skill being developed, therapy may take place at home, on the playground, music class, and maybe at the closest fishing pond!
